Why am I sharing my notes?

First, I am not innately brilliant with a sky rocketed IQ.  I’m just your average Jane.

I can understand a topic if I take the time to focus on the material and keep away the doubting anxiety, paralyzing thoughts that can take over my brain.  I keep in mind what Dr. Joseph told me, “You didn’t always know what 1 plus 1 equaled but you learned it.”

When I learn a topic from scratch it takes me some time because I need to own the subject matter.  This is what I attend to do here.

I’m using the Feynman study technique.  One of the things Richard Feynman said was to understand a subject, teach that subject to someone else.  This is how I got the idea for sharing my handwritten notes. Perhaps sharing my notes will help someone who is trying to learn like I am.  These notes contain mistakes and iterations but at the end I figured it out.  When I get stuck, I have the luxury of asking my tutor, Tracey for help.  She is fabulous.  She helps me understand instead of memorizing.

My first endeavor is to learn calculus from scratch using Khan Academy.  I never learned calculus in high school because we were told we didn’t need it.  Well, fast forward (really quickly) to 2024 and I see that isn’t true.
